Vijayawada: Commuters faced many hardships at low bridge and K Market junction in Vijayawada on Wednesday morning due to heavy traffic jam caused by diversion of traffic to mark Dasara celebrations. Thousands of commuters stranded from Tarapet to Old Government hospital junction and towards the Head post office and Vastralatha centre due to increasing flow of vehicles.

The VMC has leased the space near Gandhiji Municipal High School to a private contractor for parking vehicles.

Nearly 50 percent of the road is used for parking vehicles. Consequently, the flow of vehicles from K Market to Panja centre is declining.
Keeping in view of the Dasara festival rush on Canal road, the city police blocked movement of vehicles on flyover connecting police control room junction and Canal road. Consequently, all vehicles moved towards the low bridge in both directions and the road was blocked with stranded vehicles.
