Paderu (Visakhapatnam): Superintendent of Police Rahul Dev Sharma has called upon the educated unemployed tribal youth to make use of the intensive coaching programme-‘Sadhana’ being executed by Rural police and the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), for appearing competitive exams including the ensuing police constable recruitment.

Addressing Sadhana inaugural meeting held at the Youth Training Centre here on Thursday, Rahul Dev Sharma informed that they were providing quality coaching and tips to face the interviews with the help of ITDA and it was the responsibility of the youth to make the best use of it. He said it was the responsibility of the youth to make best use of the programme to be lasted till November 6. Sadhana was aimed at making the educated unemployed youth fit in securing a job, at least a person in each family, to ensure socio-economic development without falling prey to anti-social activities.

The coaching will be in seven subjects besides in physical fitness tests including 100 and 600 mtrs run and long jump and the youths must read newspapers daily to update knowledge on the current topics, he explained. The SP said that a total of 900 candidates attended for the screening test conducted earlier of whom 300 candidates including 80 women were selected for the coaching. The coaching, shelter and meals would be provided free of cost as the tribal youth were not able to take coaching to appear for exams due to financial problems, he added.

In-charge Project Officer of ITDA Siva Sankar Lotheti encouraged the candidates that success was certain if they strive hard utilising the programme, which would be handled by experienced faculty members. He said as the earlier programme ‘Spurti’ conducted by the ITDA yielded good results, now they were conducting it in the name of Sadhana in association with the rural police.

Necessary study material would be supplied to all the candidates, he added. Later, prizes were given away to Killo Madhavilatha, Suryakantham, Korra Das and Suresh Babu who topped the screening test. DSP M Mahendra presided over the meeting in which Inspectors Appala Naidu, Simhadri Naidu and SI Surya Prakasa Rao were also present.
