Visakhapatnam: Sharing of crucial information with all government departments will help speed up case investigations and usage of latest technology to suit the present day circumstances and it will be more useful to close the cases at the earliest, observed DIG of Police, Visakha Range Ch Srikant.
He was addressing a half-yearly crime review meeting on Friday convened by the Superintendent of Police (SI) Rahul Dev Sharma involving the officials of all government departments including the judiciary.

He also informed that the DGP has introduced prizes to those who showed excellence in chasing difficult cases adding that the first prize carries Rs one lakh, second prize of Rs 60,000 and the third Rs 40,000.He called upon the police officers to strive hard in chasing the pending cases at the earliest by co-ordinating with the government departments.

Superintendent of Prohibition and Excise (SPE) S V N N Babji Rao urged the police to control the menace of ganja in the district and to award rigorous imprisonment to the accused which will not let the accused escape from the cases. He also instructed the police to make brief note on details of all their bank accounts. SI Rahul Dev Sharma said that the challenges before the police are to reduce the road accidents rate and the growing ganja menace. He urged the police to put in more efforts to clear the case before the deadline.
