Krishna University (KRU) Women Cricket team took the Runners up position in the South Zone Inter University Women Cricket Tournament held at Sathyabhama University, Chennai. In the final match, Madras University defeated KRU by 11 runs.

Krishna University (KRU) Women Cricket team took the Runners up position in the South Zone Inter University Women Cricket Tournament held at Sathyabhama University, Chennai. In the final match, Madras University defeated KRU by 11 runs.

KRU women team cricketer Chandralekha scored 58 and tried well for the victory of the team. Madras University won the toss and selected to bat first and scored 152 with a loss of seven wickets in 30 overs. KRU bowlers had excelled in bowling, Chandrika took two wickets and Mallika, Sindhu Sree, Chandra Lekha and Vineela had taken one wicket each.

Later, KRU team lost all ten wickets with a score of 141 in 29.3 overs. Chandra Lekha has scored 58 runs and Vineela scored 23 runs to help increase the team’s score. However, KRU got second place in South Zone tournament.

The KRU sports board secretary Dr N Srinivas stated that the KRU Women team was selected for All India Inter Zonal University Women Cricket tournament. The tournament will be conduct at Maharshi Dayanand University, Rothak, Haryana in the first week of November. KRU Vice-Chancellor Prof.Sunkara Rama Krishna Rao, Registrar Prof.D Surya Chandra Rao and others congratulated the team members.
