Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will visit the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) State office in Guntur on Wednesday. He will unveil a statue of late Chief Minister N T Rama Rao and address the party leaders. He will also conduct a meeting on the membership drive to be taken up from November 1 and the Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) elections to be held soon. TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh visited the State party office on Monday and reviewed the arrangements for the Chief Minister’s visit.

The Chief Minister conducted a three-day workshop for party leaders at KL University in a bid to strengthen the party. The GMC had taken up development works worth Rs 100 crore for the Krishna Pushkarams. The party leaders were asked to launch a campaign on the development works taken up in the last two-and-a-half years. Naidu appointed a governing body for Guntur Mirchi Yard, the largest mirchi yard in Asia. The Chief Minister said on Tuesday that he would spend more time on party activities.

Meanwhile, the leaders decorated the TDP State office and set up flexi boards and banners to welcome the Chief Minister. Police made tight security arrangements.TDP State office secretary KV Ramana said: “The Chief Minister will unveil a 10-ft statue of NTR tomorrow. He will address a meeting at the party office. Later, he will attend the marriage of MLA Yarapathineni Srinivasa Rao’s daughter in Guntur city.”
