Sri City: Paques Environmental Technology India (PETI) Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Netherlands-based industrial waste water management company, Paques, inaugurated a manufacturing base in Sri City on Tuesday. At a colourful function, the Ambassador of The Netherlands in India AHM Stoelinga inaugurated the plant in the presence of top officials of PETI and Sri City.

The Ambassador mentioned that Netherlands and India have had trade relations for the past four centuries and added that Netherlands was India’s fourth largest trading partner in the European Union and one of the top five investors in the country. Stoelinga said that the products of PETI would be in much demand in the Indian market as there was a huge surge in economic activity in the country that would lead to the need for water conservation.

Sri City managing director Ravindra Sannareddy said that PETI was very close to his heart. "As an environmental engineer, I was very keen on having Paques here as it is the leading brand in the field of green-energy,” he said and added that Paques was the second company from Netherlands in Sri City. "With the advantage of a Special Economic Zone, a contiguous Domestic Industrial Zone and Free Trade Warehousing Zone, Sri City will felicitate exports also,” said Ravindra.

Paques India already executes large orders in the Pulp & Paper, Food & Beverage and Petro Chemical sector in India. With the ‘Make in India’ initiative, Indian industries and municipalities will have access to advanced and innovative robust technologies, which would help them to reclaim energy from wastewater and biogas,” said Stephen Bocke, CEO of Paques India. The new plant with an approximate area of 2500 square meters, commissioned with an initial investment of Rs 30 crores on 2 acres will manufacture core components for the reactors that treat waste water and gas. Besides India and the SAARC nations, it will supply its products, to customers across South East Asia, Japan, Vietnam etc.
