Anantapur: Joint Collector B Lakshmikantham has called upon literacy workers to strive to improve the literacy level in the district as education is the panacea for all ills of society.Participating in the seventh leg of literacy campaign in the district, Joint Collector Lakshmikantham said literacy gives one self-confidence, while illiterate people cannot take good decisions. “Out of 5.5 lakh DWCRA women in the district, 1.7 lakh women are still illiterate. A nation’s prosperity and development is determined by its literacy levels,” he said.
