Visakhapatnam: Civil Supplies Minister Paritala Sunita informed here on Sunday that 24 more petrol bunks will be opened across the State by the Civil Supplies Department in addition to the two that already exist.The Minister who was accompanied by officials of Civil Supplies and Weights and Measures, conducted surprise checks on fair price shops and petrol bunks to check the quantity and quality of the materials and interacted with the customers.

She was satisfied with the maintenance of FP shops and bunks and urged the organisers to maintain transparency. She warned the FP shopkeepers of stringent action against adulteration or under weighing or under measuring of materials.

She asked the officials of Weights and Measures to conduct frequent checks to be aware of fraud consumers. The Minister tested the quality as well as measurement of petrol at an Indian Oil Petrol Bunk near Port Stadium and asked the consumers about their opinions.

Later, Sunita told media corps that the government is striving hard to provide quality consumer service through Civil Supplies and to generate employment by opening more petrol bunks in the State. When questioned about the sub-standardd red gram being supplied to the beneficiaries, she said that the investigation is underway.
