Nellore: Nellore city police arrested Maramreddy Srihari, who was involved in a drug peddling case, on Monday evening and produced him before the media on Tuesday. It may be recalled here that Jeedimetla police took two persons into custody for possessing ketamine.
They arrested the accused after ascertaining their links with Srihari of Nellore. The police seized 1.5 kg of ketamine, worth nearly Rs 60 lakh, city DSP G Venkata Ramudu said. Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Srihari at the parcel office on the railway station premises. He tried to sell the drug in Chennai with the help of some persons and he stored it at his residence, he said.
