Vizianagaram: Following the major encounter at the Andhra-Odisha border, which had resulted in the deaths of 24 Maoists and a constable, police have alerted their counterparts in the agency areas of Vizianagaram district. Salur, Pachipenta, Komarada, Parvathipuram, Kurupam, Makkuva and GL Puram mandals have a large tribal population and some of these villages are located near the Odisha border.

We will not allow any anti-social elements into our geographical area. We are keeping a strict vigil and shall thwart any attempts by Maoists to take shelter or infiltrate into the district,” said Additional SP (Operations) KVA Naidu.
