Later, Venkatesh said Kurnool would be transformed into a beautiful city. “As part of beautification, CC roads, drainage and dividers have been planned with a cost of Rs 20 lakh from the Command Control Room, Special Branch Office to Police Guest House,” he said.
Kurnool: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP TG Venkatesh, accompanied by Kurnool MLA SV Mohan Reddy and SP Ake Ravi Krishna, performed bhoomi puja for lying of road, dividers and construction of drainage at the Command Control Room here on Thursday.

He said works pertaining to Municipal Corporation were being carried out at a rapid pace and the government allocated Rs 2 crore for the project. He urged the Corporation employees to speed up the works.
Mohan Reddy said that Municipal Minister Narayana had sanctioned Rs 60 crore during his visit to Kurnool. “We have urged the State government for the early allocation of SC and ST Sub-plan funds,” he said and thanked Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for releasing Rs 430 crore in a span of six months for transforming Kurnool into a smart city.
