In the wake of the recent encounter between Maoists and special police parties of AP and Odisha at the Andhra-Odisha Border (AOB), where 28 Maoists were killed, the Andhra Pradesh cabinet has decided to enhance the security for Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

In the wake of the recent encounter between Maoists and special police parties of AP and Odisha at the Andhra-Odisha Border (AOB), where 28 Maoists were killed, the Andhra Pradesh cabinet has decided to enhance the security for Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

The decision was taken on Monday at the cabinet meeting chaired by Chandrababu and will be implemented immediately. A threatening letter to Chandrababu and his family had also been released by the Maoists to avenge the killings at AOB.

The deployment of additional forces has been approved by the Cabinet at the Chief Minister's office in Velagapudi, his residence and also the the personnel and fleet strength of the CM's convoy will be increased. All the family members of the Chief Minister including the TDP's national secretary Nara Lokesh would be granted the security cover.
