  • Says TDP compromised on SCS for political benefits

Stating that the saffron party was not following the ‘Raj Dharma’ propagated by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he dubbed Prime Minister Narendra Modi as hardcore RSS Pracharak, while terming Vajpayee as a liberal leader.

He addressed a media conference at the party office here on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, he reminded that the BJP promised to create two crore jobs every year, if they voted to power but even not 15 per cent of the target achieved in two-and-half year rule.

“They promised to bring back Rs 40 lakh crore black money to India but so far brought only Rs 4000 crore.
The Congress leader alleged that the BJP government was using Income Tax officials to raise party funds.

“The officials are misbehaving and harassing traders. They have issued 9 lakh notices,” he said and dared the BJP chief Amit Shah to deny the allegations he levelled against the BJP government.

Digvijay also alleged that expenditure estimates of the Polavaram project were inflated from Rs16,000 crore to Rs44,000 crore. “The ruling party leaders are siphoning off the public money by inflating the figures of projects.

The TDP government compromised with the BJP on Special Category Status for political benefits,”
he charged. He said that AP could have got 90 per cent of the project expenditure, if SCS was accorded.

Talking about Maoists encounter, he demanded that the government should inform people about the status of Maoist leader RK whether he was alive or not. He expressed shock over the encounter in which eight Simi terrorists were killed.

He questioned how can prisoners could climb the tall wall built with ISO standards. He demanded for the probe on the alleged encounter in Madhya Pradesh.

Stating that details given by the government on the alleged encounter were suspicious, he stressed upon the need for the probe with National Investigation Agency.

He found fault with extending NIA director’s tenure for two years and alleged the term was extended to save four RSS activists who were accused in Malegaon, Mecca mosque blast in Hyderabad and other terror acts took place in other parts of the country.
