Tirupati: CPM has demanded the TTD authorities to disclose the details of the Rs 188-crore works sanctioned by the TTD Trust Board at its meeting held in Tirumala on Tuesday.
In a release here on Wednesday, CPM district secretary K Kumar Reddy said that the party welcomed the TTD’s decision to take up the works on such a large scale in Tirupati as the party has been demanding the government to spend TTD funds for the improvement of infrastructure facilities in the pilgrim city. “However, the TTD should release a white paper on the Rs 188-crore works to be taken up in Tirupati,” he said.
The CPM leader said the TTD educational institutions were facing acute shortage of staff, giving advantage to private and corporate colleges to exploit people. “Similarly, there is a need to improve health facilities in the city to avoid people going to Chennai and Vellore for treatment,” he said.
