Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu held a review meeting on Thursday to discuss the development in Amaravati.

Asserting that the development should not be limited to the capital region, Chandrababu directed the officials to take up works on priority basis and suggested that services should be decentralized.

The officials gave an estimated deadline of December 31, 2017 by which the arterial roads and sub-arterial roads of 270 km would be finished at a cost of Rs 3,600 crores. The Chief Minister also asked the officials to build bridges and storm water drainages along the roads to prevent water logging.

Asking them not to compromise on the quality and standards, Chandrababu stated that the economic activity should begin immediately.

Among several other issues discussed, the officials informed about the proposals of identifying areas for establishing iconic parks, plot allotment for ten villages, identifying land for star hotels, schools and colleges.
