GITAM student ends life
A 23-year-old student of GITAM University committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in Durganagar area under PM Palem station on Tuesday night. The police identified him as A Amit Kumar, second year student of  BCA, GITAM University.
Visakhapatnam: A 23-year-old student of GITAM University committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in Durganagar area under PM Palem station on Tuesday night. The police identified him as A Amit Kumar, second year student of BCA, GITAM University.
PM Palem sub-inspector K Shyam Sundar said that the family members of the deceased said Amit has been suffering from mental illness and depressed over the upcoming examinations. Amit Kuamr was under treatment and has been taking medicines for the past few years.
On Tuesday evening, Amit Kumar went to his room and had taken the extreme step by hanging. Based on the information, the PM Palem police visited the spot and did not recover any suicide note.
A case under Section 174 of CrPC has been registered and the body was handed over to the family members after post-mortem.
