Eluru: Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas said that the government has introduced five special medical services to extend qualitative health care to poor people in the State. He laid foundation stone for Bala Bhavitha Centre, here on Wednesday night along with Minister Peethala Sujatha.

Speaking on the occasion, Kamineni said that the government extended free medical services through NTR Vaidya Seva. “Tallibidda Express, 102 call centre and other services paid rich dividends as the number of deliveries in State-run hospitals increased by 40 per cent.

The new Bala Bhavitha Centre will extend treatment to the children below 18years for 15 days to three months .

The Health Minister said that the government has decided to develop the government hospitals as teaching hospitals. He said the linking a private hospital with government hospital was beneficial, as the number of wings in the State-run hospital increased to 19 wings and beds to 650. He pointed out that the government has taken up Chittoor hospital as a pilot project with the participation of Apollo hospitals and with this the outpatients number has reached to 2,000 from 800.

The Minister said that a sub-committee has been set up to study the system being implemented at Chittoor hospital and after the report, guidelines will be issued.
