Anantapur: The Andhra Pradesh police has made the State proud of their achievement, Superintendent of Police Rajasekhar Babu has said. “The police has made a clean sweep of the Maoists from the State. The recent encounter between the police and the Maoists on the Andhra-Odisha Border (AOB) wiped out top brass of Maoists. However, there is no place for complacency and police in all districts should be in a State of alertness,” he said.

Addressing a two-day training programme that began at the police conference hall here on Wednesday, Rajasekhar advised the police to be on alert to prevent any untoward incident from occurring. He said it was a different thing to be in a state of alertness after something happened.

Training was being given by Grey Hounds personnel on security techniques. The training was organised for the Quick Response Team personnel and Personal Security Officers of VIPs. He said police personnel were advised by the top brass to be in a state of alertness. He said ministers, people’s representatives and other VVIPs should be given an effective security cover in the wake of the recent encounter on the AOB.

Effective use of AK-47 and 9 mm pistol cartridges were also part of the training. The SP called for greater coordination between officers and security personnel. Additional SP K Maladri, PTC DSP Khasim Saab, AR DSP Chinni Krishna and Police Officers Association president Sake Triloknadh were present.
