Visakhapatnam Steel Plant of RINL launched a two-day special training programme on “Behaviour based safety management”

Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam Steel Plant of RINL launched a two-day special training programme on “Behaviour based safety management” organised by safety engineering department of steel plant in collaboration with the India’s premier safety institution National Safety Council, Mumbai at management development centre, Ukkunagaram, here on Wednesday.

The training programme was inaugurated by K V Ramana Rao, executive director (Works) in-charge.

Speaking on the occasion, he stated that VSP has always focused on achieving zero accident rate and stressed on bringing total safety culture in achieving this target.

NVK Raju, general manager (safety and environment) mentioned that VSP has already achieved a frequency rate of 0.18 and for further reduction it was important to implement behaviour based safety management system.Faculty member of National Safety Council, Rakesh Srivatsav, deputy director general, National Safety Council, applauded the safety measures being taken up by the steel plant.

Nityananda, former deputy director, National Safety Council, detailed the course outline of the training programme.
