Kakinada: Following the bifurcation of the State, the Industries department has initiated several measures to encourage prospective entrepreneurs for setting up industrial units and improve employment potential in a big way.

As part of this, the East Godavari Industries Centre (DIC) has taken up a facilitation programme for prospective entrepreneurs, in coordination with National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).

The objective behind the programme was to assist those entrepreneurs who were unable to secure assistance from banks for their projects. Of the total 377 projects submitted by prospective entrepreneurs, clearance was given for 244 of them by banks under single-window clearance.

Interestingly, 102 women entrepreneurs figured among the 244.

Of the remanding 133 of the 377 projects, special interactive sessions were organised in association with NABARD and suggestions given to the project proposers to make relevant changes to their proposals.
