Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Meesala Rajeswara Rao said that Telugu Desam Party was conducting ‘Jana Chaitanya Yatralu’ with a fear that that it would be defeated in 2019 elections as the State government has failed to fulfil its promises made in the last elections.

Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, Rajeswara Rao said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is not striving for the development of the State except signing pacts with Singapore firms in the name building world class capital in Amaravati. He demanded that the State government disclose facts behind the secret agreements.

Rajeswara Rao condemned the arrest of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi when he went to meet the grieving family of Grewal who committed suicide for the cause of OROP.

The Modi government’s action was undemocratic, he said. He said that the Modi government was allowing a private company to take all the gas in the Krishna-Godavari basin by doing gross injustice to the people of Andhra Pradesh. He also condemned the remarks made by BJP senior leader Siddharth Nath Singh against AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh.
