The Union government will be held responsible for the suicide of the former army officer Ram Kishan Grewal, blamed the Congress leaders

Ongole: The Union government will be held responsible for the suicide of the former army officer Ram Kishan Grewal, blamed the Congress leaders here on Thursday. They took out a rally to condemn the arrest of Rahul Gandhi and submitted a memorandum to the statue of BR Ambedkar in protest against the Central government.

Secretary of PCC and District Youth Congress president Dr Gurrala Raj Vimal said that the retired army officer Ram Kishan Grewal committed suicide as the Union government failed to implement ‘One Rank-One Pension’ scheme.

He and other members of Congress took out a rally in protest against the police for arresting Rahul Gandhi when he tried to console the family members of Ram Kishan Grewal at Ram Manohar Lohia hospital.

Raj Vimal said, “With the arrest of Rahul Gandhi, we can easily understand how much respect the ruling party has towards Constitution. Is there any where in the Constitution says that consoling a grieving family is against the law? It is unfortunate and undemocratic that they arrested the family members of Grewal, who are in deep sorrow and mourning the loss their family member. We demand the BJP led government tender an apology for their act, or else the Youth Congress will launch agitation across the State.”

The Congress leaders took out the rally till the Collectorate and submitted a memorandum to the BR Ambedkar statue at the Ambedkar centre.

The City Congress president Sripati Prakasam, PCC spokesperson Eddu Sasikanth Bhushan, district SC Cell president Vema Srinu, dist vice-president Eddu Koteswara Rao, NSUI dist president Chandu Naik and other leaders of the party also participated in the rally.
