Police beefed up security for leaders who attended Jana Chaitanya Yatralu in rural areas where police forces are inadequate.

The step has been taken considering bandh call given by Maoists in five States as part of protest to the recent encounter in Andhra-Odisha border.
SP Vishal Gunni directed the police officials in all areas to provide necessary security for VIPs who participate in Jana Chaitanya Yatralu. They had asked the SHAR, Krishnapatnam Port, and other major organisations to be watchful on new entrants and strangers.
He also asked officials to check hotels, lodges, besides random checks on movements of vehicles keeping in view of any possible threat of attack. Marine police, coast guard, CISF and local police teamed up and conducting checks. People can directly lodge complaint with police on any suspected movements of people on: 9390777727 for immediate action.
They also suggested house owners to get full details of persons verifying their origin and behaviour, before letting out.
