Amaravati: The ruling party cadre in the State is focusing on using school children for the public meetings of the Chief Minister at Amaravati and other places across the State as the children do not demand anything in return for attending the meetings.

It is an open secret that public are lured to such meetings of political parties by being offered money, fuel for vehicles, food, alcohol etc.

Apparently, State government officials and TDP leaders are pressurizing the managements of private educational institutions to send their children to the public meetings and the vehicles of the institutes are also being used for this purpose.

Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Boddu Nageswara Rao blamed the State government for using school children in the political and private meetings in the State and requested the educational institutions and parents to refrain from sending their wards to such events as it would have a negative impact on the young minds and also on society.

Nageswara Rao also said that he would debate the issue in the Legislative Council. Student Federation of India (SFI) State secretary Noor Mohammad said that AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu literally worked as a Public Relationship Officer (PRO) to the VIT university foundation ceremony programme at Velagapudi on Thursday.

He said that the State government forced the public and private school and college students into attending the VIT foundation ceremony meeting. “State government has misused the farmers’ lands to allot 200 acres of land at a rock-bottom price to the VIT University in Amaravati,” he said and added that the government was planning to allot more land to private universities at Amaravati at similar prices.

He found fault with the State government for not allotting land to Central government institutions at Amaravati and said that nearly three central educational institutions were functioning from private buildings.
