Foundation laid for drinking water pipeline
Gannavaram MLA Dr Vallbhaneni Vamsi Mohan laid the foundation stone for drinking water pipeline from Polavaram Right Main Canal (PRMC) to Nunna drinking water tank at Nunna village in Vijayawada rural near here on Saturday.

The Rural Water Supply (RWS) department officers proposed the pipeline to fill Nunna drinking water tank with river Godavari water threw PRMC and resolve the drinking water problem in Nunna and surrounding villages.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Vamsi Mohan said that Nunna villagers have been facing drinking water problem from the past four months. The Nunna drinking water tank is being filled with river Krishna water through Gollapudi Pumping Lift Irrigation Scheme (GPS) canal, he said. Water supply was stopped when the river Krishna water level decreased at the Prakasam Barrage, he added.
Furthermore, MLA Vamsi said that Nunna villagers approached all-party leaders to resolve the water problem. Hence, a discussion was held and it was decided to lay the water pipeline from Polavaram canal to tank and fill it with the Godavari water, he added. MLA Vamsi directed the RWS officers to complete the pipeline work as early as possible.
