Anantapur: Andhra Pradesh Kapu Corporation Chairman Chalamalasetti Ramanjaneyulu has hailed the then Chief Minister N T Rama Rao and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for the upliftment of Kapu, Telaga and Balija communities in the State.

Addressing an awareness programme on schemes meant for Kapu and other castes at the ZP Meeting Hall here on Saturday, Ramanjaneyulu reiterated his commitment for the upliftment of the Kapu, Balija and Telaga castes saying that he did not consider himself as chairman but a humble servant committed for the upliftment of the under-privileged communities. He said that all loans given through the corporation will be given 50 per cent subsidy.

He said that the children of the said castes whose fathers are daily wage labourers and auto-rickshaw drivers have been selected for overseas education and 400 students have been iden tified in the State. Also, educated youth among the castes are also being sent to Delhi and Hyderabad for civils coaching. Special coaching for 10th class drop-outs will also be launched once Kapu Bhavans are in place in the State.

Referring to complaints of reluctance of certain banks to give loans, Ramanjaneyulu said that he would talk to the District Collector and sort out the issue. The Chief Minister also will be handling the issue at the state-level bankers meeting and make loans issual hassle-free. Mayor Swaroopa also hailed the Ramanjaneyulu for his commitment to the cause of the under-privileged communities. Local MLA Prabhakar Chowdary gave credit to NTR and Chandrababu Naidu for floating the Kapu Corporation.
