‘RTI activists must protect themselves’

Visakhapatnam: Central Information Commissioner Prof M Sridhar Acharyulu, who was here on Saturday, said that the RTI activists must
protect themselves.

While interacting with the RTI activists, he suggested to them to ask the officials to send information through post by giving post box
number.

He said that though the country attained independence six decades ago, real independence to public came in 2005 through the RTI Act.
When an activist asked about the Endowments department, the commissioner felt that it should also be brought under RTI.
