- Claims that the YSRCP will win 158 Assembly elections if elections are held at the current juncture

Visakhapatnam: The YSRCP will sweep the 2019 elections in the State with Special Category Status at the top of its agenda in the election manifesto, said Rajya Sabha member and General Secretary of the party V Vijay Sai Reddy.

Justifying his claim, Reddy said the vote share of Telugu Desam has been on the declining side and even if elections are held at this point of time, it would garner only 15 per cent against its 45 per cent in the 2014 General Elections

On single party basis, YSRCP got about 44 per cent vote share in 2014 and it would win at least 158 Assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh even if the elections were held now. He was addressing a Meet-the-Press programme organised by Vizag Journalists Forum here on Saturday.

The YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP was here to participate in a public meeting `Jai Andhra Pradesh’ to be addressed by party president Y Jaganmohan Reddy.

Vijay Sai alleged that the TDP government ignored the welfare of the people and failed to fulfill its poll promises. He said the ruling party is deeply involved in caste-based politics, and it has been siphoning off its black money to the foreign shores by involving in neck-deep corruption in its various schemes, even including the industry subsidies.

Reddy said both BJP and TDP should introspect what they promised before assuming the offices and what they had delivered so far.
