India to play England in Vizag on Nov 17

- Vizag to host its first ever Test match
- A pre-match function to be organised by ACA in which visiting teams would be honoured

Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam would be hosting its maiden test match against England at Dr YSR ACA-VDCA International Cricket Stadium from November 17. The organising committee conducted its first meeting in the city on Monday, which was presided over by president of Andhra Cricket Association DS Somayajulu. Dr Gokaraju Gangaraju, MP and honorary secretary of ACA, commissioner of police T Yogananad, joint secretary Ch Arun Kumar and vice -president V Umamaheswar Rao were present. Somayajulu appealed to all the members of the committee to make a success of the maiden test. He recalled the efforts of Dr Gangaraju with BCCI to get the test match allotted to Visakhapatnam.

Dr Gokaraju Gangaraju said that to mark this memorable event, ACA would be organising an inaugural function before the Test match, as part of which, ACA would honour both the teams along with players from Andhra Pradesh who had played at both Ranji and national level in various categories. Yogananad asked the organising committee to ensure a clean atmosphere at the stadium and its premises during the days of the event. He also said that the police department would take complete care regarding the security for the visiting teams as well as the public.
