Kakinada: East Godavari district Superintendent of police Ravi Prakash on Wednesday made it clear that some identified hospitals, RTC and petrol bunks should invariably accept the demonetized Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes from the public. He warned them against causing inconvenience to the people by refusing to accept the notes on the grounds that they were banned.

In case of any doubt, people can call the toll-free help line numbers: 9490618505 and 9440796514 said the SP and requested that only genuine customers deposit/exchange the notes at the banks. He asked people to exercise restraint saying that it was only a matter of four or five days before the problems were resolved. Bandobast arrangements had been made at banks, said the SP and asked the banks to provide amenities to customers such as providing additional counters and erecting barricades, if necessary.
