Nellore: District Collector R Mutyala Raju informed the State government has allocated Rs 61 crore to develop tourism spots in the district. He visited BV Palem in Tada mandal on Wednesday and inspected the places proposed for improvement keeping in view of upcoming Flamingo festival. Mutyala Raju directed the officials to take necessary measures to supply drinking water and maintain proper sanitation in the areas for convenience of the tourists.

The Collector also visited Pulicat Bird Sanctuary at Atakanitippa and said that the government had sanctioned Rs 10.90 crore to Mypadu; Rs 2.62 crore to Nellore Tank; Rs 3.62 crore to Kothakodur; Rs 2.73 crore to Ramateertham and Rs 1.48 crore to Nelapattu. Also, Rs 10.47 crore to Irakkam Island; Rs 7.19 crore to Atakanitippa; Rs 1.33 crore to Iskapalli and Rs 11.97 crore to B V Palem to develop beaches and set up resorts in these areas.

Naidupeta RDO B Sreenu Naik, Sullurupeta Tahsildar Ravindra Babu, Forest Range Officers Kumar Raja, Venkata Rathnam and other officials were present.
