Kakinada:The Poru Garjana organised at East Godavari Collectorate on Wednesday made a charter of demands for the welfare of SC, ST and BC social sections.

Leaders from CPI, BSP, YSRC and SC social sections demanded reservations for these sections in the private sector and for spending of SC, ST sub-plan funds exclusively for the needs of those communities.

Addressing the meet, CPI senior leader and party secretary K Ramakrishna came down heavily on the TDP government for neglecting the interests of SC, ST and BCs.

He demanded reservations to these sections in private sector as the reservations in government sector had been on a decline since the year 1991.

He observed that not a piece of land or house was provided to these sections in the last two and half years under TDP rule and alleged that even the SC, ST sub-plan funds were being diverted for road works, irrigation projects and even for development of parks.

CPI East Godavari unit secretary Tatipaka Madhu said that theTDP government in a span of few months had closed as many as 50 BC, SC and ST hostels citing insufficient student strength thereby depriving the students of those communities of education.

YSRCP leader and MLC Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose, BSP leader Chollagi Venugopal and others spoke.
