Rajamahendravaram: Navyandhra book festival will be organised at Government Art’s College here November 19 to November 27, said Rajamahendravaram rural MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, Adikavi Nannaya University vice-chancellor Prof M Muthyala Naidu, NTR Trust CEO Vishnuvardhan and Vijayawada Book Society convener Mallepalli Lakshmaiah here on Thursday. The book festival will be jointly organized by AP Language and Cultural department, Adikavi Nannaya University, Vijayawada Book Society and NTR Trust. Poster of book festival was released at press club here on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Butchaiah Chowdary said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is likely to inaugurate the event and elaborate arrangements were going to be made for the event. He asked the Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation to extend support for the book festival. The MLA said the Chief Minister had released Rs 1,000 crore from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the needy and the poor. Stating that a huge job mela would be organised at Adikavi Nannaya University on December 23 and 24, he said representatives from 40 companies would take part in the job fair to offer employment to students.

NTR Trust CEO Vishnuvardhan said that these kinds of book festivals were being organised in several places in the State to make Andhra Pradesh a knowledge hub. He said that book festivals had been organised in Anantapur, Tirupati, Nellore and Vijayawada thus far and Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam would be next in the schedule.
