Visakhapatnam: In all, 1,200 students from 70 schools will take part in ‘Pratibimb’, the Navy painting competition to be organised by the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) as part of the Navy Day celebrations on November 12 at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Port Sports Complex.

The competition will be held in three categories-sub-juniors (LKG to 3rd Class), juniors (4th to 7th Class) and seniors (8th Class and above) with different themes for each category. There are also two separate categories for children with special abilities. The award ceremony for individual prize winners as well the rolling trophy for the school with maximum award points will be held on-board Eastern Fleet ships during ‘Day at Sea’, tentatively scheduled for November 25.

The award winners will be permitted to sail on-board the ship with parents and teachers. Admiral superintendent, Naval Dockyard Rear Admiral Narayan Prasad will be the chief guest for the painting event and head of the department of fine arts, Andhra University Prof C Ravishankar Pattnaik will also attend. Officer-in-Charge, Fleet Maintenance Unit Commodore D K Murali will coordinate and supervise the event.
