Tuni (East Godavari): Nearly 50,000 pending pension applications would be cleared during Janmabhhomi programme scheduled to be held in January 2017.

The Minister said under NTR housing scheme, 1,250 houses were sanctioned for each constituency and an additional 350 houses under IAY (Indira Awas Yojana) in the State.

He said the state government was contemplating to provide financial assistance to other poor communities on par with SC.ST, BC, Minorities and Brahmin Corporations in the state for their economic upliftment.

On farm loan waiver, Yanamala said an amount of Rs 2,400 crore was already disbursed and the pending Rs 3,000 crore would be released in next month. He said Rs 160 crore was being spent for laying of R&B roads, including Tuni-Kottam road at a cost of Rs 35 crore as part of the development of Tuni constituency.

The Finance Minister while addressing another gathering at Kummarilova village, said that the revised estimates for Polavaram Left Canal works were approved at a cost of Rs 4,500 crore.

The canal provides water to Srikakulam district while covering East Godavari, Visakhapatanam and Vizianagaram districts. He said this would also fulfil the water needs of Visakhaptanam Steel Plant besides supplying irrigation water to Yeleru ayacut.

Yanamala said the government had also approved lift irrigation scheme at Puroshothapatnam at a cost of Rs 1,650 crore for this purpose. In this connection, the Minister said that the Polavaram Left Canal works would pass through Kummarilova village and blasting works of the project would affect the local colony.

Accordingly, the district administration has been asked to find alternative habitation for the residents of the colony of Kummarilova, where they would be provided houses under NTR housing scheme,” he said.The Minister handed over house sanctioning letters to beneficiaries on the occasion.
