Vijayawada: For the third consecutive day on Friday, serpentine queues were witnessed at all the bank branches with account holders and people trying to get valid currency notes in return of cancelled Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes in the city. People thronged the branches as early as 8 am and waited for their turn at the branches.
At many branches stampede took place as the people tried to get the change for invalid notes. Those who failed to get the money on Wednesday and Thursday tried their best to get valid currency on Friday.
