Chittoor: MLA D K Satyaprabha said that the TDP government has introduced several welfare schemes for the uplift of minorities. She asked Muslims to benefit from government schemes. The MLA participated in a function organised at Ambedkar Bhavan on Friday on the occasion of 129th birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam. She gave a call to Muslim youth to realise their dreams by following footsteps of Maulana.

Presiding over the function, Satyaprabha said Maulana Abul Kalam was a role model to the nation. He strived hard for unity among Hindus and Muslims. Zilla Parishad Chairperson Girvani Chandra Prakash stated Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is committed to Minority welfare. “Minorities should play active role in politics,” she said.

Joint Collector Girisha said that the State government has decided to celebrate Minorities Welfare Day and National Education Day on the occasion of Maulana’s 129th birth anniversary. “Education is only the powerful weapon for achieving country’s development. The government has been striving to improve literacy rate among minorities,” he added. Mayor in-charge Subramanyam, Joint Collector 2 Venkata Subba Reddy, District Minorities Officer Prabhakara Reddy, DRDA Project Director Ravi Prakash Reddy, SSA PO Lakshmi and others were present.
