Police foil MLA’s dharna bid

​Uravakonda(Anantapur): YSRCP leader and Uravakonda MLA Visveswara Reddy was placed under house arrest on Saturday for some time after he had prepared to undertake a dharna in protest against the alleged callousness of the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu towards the poor and for denying them house sites.

Speaking to the media, Visveswara Reddy said that the Chief Minister was least bothered about issuing housing site pattas to the poor and was focused only on Amaravati. He said that pattas had not been issued to the poor although housing sites had been identified for them in Uravakonda. Visveswara Reddy accused the government of neglecting the development of the districts completely and turning a blind eye to the welfare of the poor.
