Vijayawada: CPM state secretary P Madhu dashed off a letter to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to safeguard the rights of Polavaram project oustees tribulations at Yetapaka mandal on Sunday.

Madhu demanded the State government to at the Yetapaka mandal would face threat under the Polavaram project and the State government also identifies these villages. “Under the Land Acquisition Act – 2013 if the State government failed to complete the project within five years, State government must conduct a re-survey of the project for paying compensation and rehabilitation to farmers who gave the lands to the project” he added.

He also urged the government to provide rehabilitation to above 18-year-old based on the new survey and also requested State government for allotting registered lands to the tribal’s in the Yetapaka mandal. “Lakshmipuram health centre needed to be converted into round-the-clock hospital. State government would construct the Government Junior College and repair two lift irrigation projects at the Yetapaka mandal because these two lift irrigation are unable to irrigate agricultural lands” he added.

He also requested the state government in a letter to pay the compensation for the Allugu Vagu project land holders because the State government got the farming lands under the Land Acquisition Act in 2006 – 08 but the government failed to pay the compensation so far. ”People were unable to reach Aadhar centre at Kunavaram which is 60 kms away from the Yetapaka mandal, so government should establish a new Aadhar centre at Yetapaka mandal” he added. CPM leader urged the government to conduct Sadaram camp to the physically-challenged persons every month at
Chintoor.
