​Tadepalligudem:Former Minister and the BJP State leader Kanna Lakshmi Narayana said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will hold a Rythu Maha Sabha at Tadepalligudem to solve the problems of the farmers, on November 26.

He said that the BJP National Committee President Amit Shah will participate as Chief Guest at the meeting. Addressing the media at Tadepalligudem on Wednesday, the former Minister said that the Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was committed to the welfare of farmers and the development of the country.

The NDA government led by Prime Minister Modi has allotted highest funds to the farmers and rural development, said Kanna Lakshmi Narayana.

He said that as part of the farmers’ welfare measures, the Government has initiated the ‘soil testing cards’ programme cards programme to minimise crop expenditure and added that Rs 5,300 crore had been allotted for the construction of small irrigation projects and check dams.

He said the Rythu Maha Sabha that would be held in Tadepalligudem on November 26 will explain the schemes introduced for the farmers by the Central government and requested the farmers of East and West Godavari districts and Krishna district to participate in the Maha Sabha.

Referring to the demonetisation of big currency notes, he opined that the decision was taken in the best interests of the nation. While admitting that people would be inconvenienced initially because of the decision, he said that they would be better off in the long run.

The former Minister said he would request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to initiate a CBI inquiry into allegations of graft against certain bank managers. BJP leaders Pericherla Murali Krishnam Raju, Yadlapalli Nayudu, Murali and others participated in the media interaction.
