The GSL Medial College  at Rajanagaram tops the lists with the installation of 330 KW solar powers at a cost of Rs 2.64 crore. The systems generate solar power to the tune of 1650 units per day and 50, 000 units per month.  This saves big for the hospital in the form of power bills.

Rajanagaram [ East Godavari] :The sops being extended by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy through NREDCAP and the focus being laid on clean energy and the cost factor has prompted several educational institutions to opt for solar roof-top systems in East Godavari district.

The GSL Medial College at Rajanagaram tops the lists with the installation of 330 KW solar powers at a cost of Rs 2.64 crore. The systems generate solar power to the tune of 1650 units per day and 50, 000 units per month. This saves big for the hospital in the form of power bills.

Similarly, Amalapuram Institute of Medical Sciences at Mummidivaram got a100 KW solar unit installed at a cost of Rs 80 lakh which produces 500 units per day. BVC College of Engineering at Odalarevu in the district got a 100 KW solar roof-top system installed at a cost of Rs 80 lakh as well.

All these three institutions were provided with subsidy by MNRE to the extent of 30 percent of costs incurred .The District Cooperative Marketing Society (DCMS), East Godavari got solar units of 50 KW installed that generate 250 units per day.

According to East Godavari NREDCAP district manager G Satyanarayana, as per the norms of MNRE, the DCMS is entitled to 50 percent subsidy on cost of installation.
