​​Tirupati: The three-day ‘Balala Rangasthala Utsavalu’ (Dance festival) organised by Chittoor district Praja Natya Mandali unit began here on a colourful note in Mahathi Auditorium on Wednesday.

Speaking after inaugurating the children cultural fete, MLC Y Srinivasulu Reddy said that the schools should not be confined to education of children but should expand and become the centre for unearthing the artistic talents of the children and their mental growth.

Involving children in the cultural programmes will provide them the much needed break for them to get relieved from the study stress and also go a long way in promoting our rich cultural heritage, he averred.

Chandana Shopping Mall managing director, who was the chief guest, lauded Praja Natya Mandali for organising special cultural festival for children, who of late, have no such opportunity and were forced to limit themselves to study.

Children studying in various schools in the city performed various cultural programmes including folk dance, classical and also rendered patriotic and message-oriented songs on the first day. Praja Natya Mandali district president Ananthasayanam, secretary M Srinivasulu and others were present.
