Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu indicated on Thursday that the proposed ‘beach love festival’, planned to be held at beaches here during February 12 to 14, 2017, would not be conducted to the detriment of people’s sentiments, values, traditions and culture.

Addressing a meeting organised at Andhra University Engineering College grounds here for distribution of pattas to women, the Chief Minister said that no event with potential to hurt the sentiments of the Telugu people and go against the traditions and local culture would be conducted.

He said that the opposition parties were raking up issues over the proposed event, but the government was firm on its commitment to the people regarding upholding values.

“We will never do such things to mislead the youth and destroy the rich culture,’’ the Chief Minister asserted. The city would be made a tourist hub and visitors shown breath-taking sites on the shore and in the agency areas, he added.

Chandrababu Naidu said that the Bhogapuram Airport project was reviewed by the cabinet on Wednesday and it had been decided to make it a greenfield international airport and also the best in the country.
