Kurnool: The Hindu Devalaya Prathistana Peetam founder Peetadhipathi Kamalananda Bharathi Swamy visited Srisailam temple and had the darshan of presiding deities on Friday. He suggested a Ayurveda University at Srisailam.

The temple authorities welcomed the Peethadhipathi according to the temple rites. Kamalananda Bharthi performed Abhisekham to Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy and had darshan of Bhramaramba Devi.

Earlier, the Peetadhipathi visited the Goshala. Speaking on the occasion, Kamalananda said ancient Ayurvedam mentioned about Go Ayurvedam, Aswa Ayurvedam and Gaja Ayurvedam pertaining to the cow’s health. He urged the temple authorities to rope in researchers of Go Ayurvedam and extend prominence to it.

Apart from Himalayas, the rare variety of herbal and medicinal plants are found at Srisailam forest and there is every need to protect them. He said Chencu medication made out of forest herbs are very effective and urged for more research in the same.
