Srikakulam: Andhra Pradesh Cooperative Central Bank Employees Association (APCCBEA) representatives staged a protest in front of the District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) here on Friday opposing the Central government’s order not allowing the cooperative banks to accept banned currency notes.
Speaking on the occasion, APCCBEA Srikakulam district unit president SVS Jagadish, general secretary, B Dasaradam, vice-president, Ch Basavalingam, secretary S V Satyannarayana said the Central government is not allowing cooperative banks to take deposits from people with demonetised notes which is causing trouble to farmers and rural people and affecting the business of the banks.On the other hand, DCCB chairman Dola Jaganmohan Rao found fault with the Central government’s decision. He questioned why government had put restrictions on cooperative banks when other banks are accepting the deposits of banned notes.
