Ragging drives engg student to end life
She died at a hospital in her home town Budvel. She had gone home early this month and returned to college hostel with her father on Thursday. She told her father that she did not want to study in this college. They were returning to Budvel when Usha started vomiting.Â
​Kurnool: A girl student of RGM Engineering College at Panyam committed suicide on Friday allegedly due to ragging. She was allegedly ragged by her seniors in Nandyal town. Usha Rani, a first year B Tech student from Kadapa district, ended her life by consuming poison.
She died at a hospital in her home town Budvel. She had gone home early this month and returned to college hostel with her father on Thursday. She told her father that she did not want to study in this college. They were returning to Budvel when Usha started vomiting.
She was admitted to a hospital where she died in the early hours of the day. Usha's family alleged that she committed suicide due to ragging. The college management has denied the claim. Some junior students also claimed that she committed suicide due to ragging. They said the management failed to act on complaints. The police were investigating the case to know the cause of the incident.
