Rajamahendravaram: People can pay by swiping cards at ration shops while purchasing essential commodities from December, said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu here on Saturday.

He said the new system would be introduced to make cashless transactions. He addressed a public meeting at satellite city in Rajamahendravaram rural constituency in East Godavari. He also took part in Jana Chaitanya Yatra of the ruling party.

Speaking on the occasion, Naidu mentioned that an action plan with a 10-point formula for families, 15-point formula for society and nine-point formula for the party is going to be formulated for a comprehensive development of the State which would be reviewed regularly.

He called upon the people to open Jan Dhan account and use Rupay Card for daily transactions. While broadly supporting the Centre’s move to scarp Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, he admitted that small traders and daily wage labourers were suffering due to delay in release of new notes.

He informed that he had written to the Reserve Bank of India urging to dispatch Rs 100 notes worth 10,000 crore to the State.

He said despite 28 per cent deficit in rainfall this season, the State could achieve a 26 per cent growth. Naidu said the government would introduce a new policy to support the educated youth.
