Vijayawada: APCC general secretary Meesala Rajeswara Rao said that people will teach a lesson to the BJP and Telugu Desam leaders in the next general elections for demonetisation of high denomination notes.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Rajeswara Rao said that about 48 innocent people died in queue lines at banks across the country while exchanging their money.

He alleged that the Prime Minister took the decision of banning Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes to do favour to his friends in the corporate sector. The Prime Minister had failed to fulfil promise of bringing back black money that was stashed abroad.

He said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had information on demonetisation of high denomination notes, but he was trying to mislead the people by saying that the Centre had taken the decision because of his letter to Modi on curbing black money.

APCC celebrated birth centenary former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on Saturday at Andhraratna Bhavan. Former MLA Malladi Vishnu, PCC leaders Naraharisetti Narasimaha Rao, Kolanukonda Sivaji and others recalled the services of Indira to the nation.
