Tirupati: Show-cause notices were issued to Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) Controller of Examination (CE) and two others including the superintendent and a junior assistant working in the SVU examination wing, here on Saturday for the mistakes or lapses in the degree semester examination which is going on from November 16.

Following the complaints from students and protests from students organisations on the out of syllabus questions in the degree semester examinations, SVU Vice-Chancellor set up an inquiry committee to probe into the mistakes or lapses, leading to the university issuing show-cause notices to the three including CE Chandraiah.

According to SVU official release here on Saturday, the enquiry committee found the Controller of Examination and two others working in the examination department responsible for the lapses leading to the issuing of show-cause notice to them on Saturday. Meanwhile, students under the banner of AISF staged dharna in Tirupati, Srikalahasti, Chittoor, Madanapalle and Kuppam demanding degree semester re-exam.

AISF district general secretary Siva Reddy who led the protest in Madanapalle said that the out of syllabus questions appeared in all the degree semester question papers since November 16 which is bound to affect the students who took the exams. The semester examination is only for the government and aided-college students, he said.
