Vijayawada: R P Thakur took charge as the Director General of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) at the ACB office here on Saturday. He said that ACB’s role is to control corruption in government offices as AP is a developing State. He stressed the need to prevent corruption in all departments.

Addressing the media here, he said that the ACB would use the best technology to curb corruption. He urged people to cooperate by passing on appropriate information to curtail fraud in society.

Thakur said that the State government would fill all vacant posts in the department to work in a well-organised way to control bribery in all departments. He said that the ACB would conduct public awareness programme for avoiding bribery in the State.

He thanked Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for appointing him as ACB Director-General (DG) in the new State of AP and also said it was a great moment to assume charge as ACB DG because every IPS officer aspires to work as an ACB DG for curbing corruption in society.
